i recommend the mistborn books highly... pass on the grossly overpriced warbreaker. itll come down soon, they almost always do, and pass the time it takes the publisher to come to their senses reading one of the most interesting fantasy books ive read.
i hate to spoil anything, so ill just say that mistborn takes the "common man prophesied to be the great savior of the world" trope and turns it on its ear...
Yes, I love it when I haven't read all an author's books and can start with the lower priced alternative.
I bought that 1.99 Bradbury book strongly suspecting it is not a legitimate publication, and indeed it looks bootleg to me. The formatting is very poor, no cover art or table of contents. Very unprofessional. "Dandelion Wine" by the same author and publisher was even worse.
Reportedly, this is the same suspicious publisher that had two Ayn Rand novels (not available ANYWHERE in ebook format) up on Amazon for a little while before they got pulled.
I'm surprised these two Bradbury titles have not been pulled yet, especially since they DID already take down the edition of "Martian Chronicles".
Buyer beware!
Not genre, but exciting literary fiction:

An interesting bunch.
John, I notice that in the feedback section at the bottom of the web page for each of the books on sale at Amazon there is a link that reads "Do you believe that this item violates a copyright? If so, click here." A good way for publishers/authors to communicate to Amazon suspicions of possible bootlegging.
Jan, I hadn't seen that link before....I clicked on it and it's not of much use to the average joe like me...takes you to a page full of the following legal stuff:
