am i the only one who liked the wheel of time books and thought they were great, right up until realizing that he was only writing the same damn book over and over again?
seriously, when i ran into the same paragraph (SAME, word for word) in the first 3 books, i stopped enjoying them entirely. doesnt help that theyre all written with thin video-game-like plots: get new power-up, learn how to use it, kill the boss, repeat for book after book.
I notice that Brandon Sanderson's Wheel of Time book is getting good reviews on Amazon. Maybe he could re-write the whole series - LOL.
im a big fan of sanderson's work, he's one of the few authors that is actually introducing new ideas in fantasy fiction... but i dont think i like him well enough to plow my way through the preceeding books so ive got enough context to enjoy the new ones...
